My yogic journey began in 1987 when I encountered the Brahma Kumaris and Raja Yoga; a form of open eye deep meditation. As I developed and committed myself to my practice, a sense of peace & calm emerged.
After my second child was born in 1997 my body felt as if it had been pulled apart then reassembled incorrectly. Things were off and my meditations were suffering. Through Hatha, Ashtanga, Raja and Yoga Nidra, I overcame my aches and pains and enjoyed greater health & peace through a regular commitment to practice.
In 2011 I felt it was time to become certified (at an Ashtanga based Yoga Studio in Calgary) in order to help others achieve greater feelings of health & peace.
I am grateful to Tracy Mann, Tanis Fishman and Gord Desautels for their knowledge, dedication and wisdom.
What I've come to understand through the process of certification is that learning itself is a lifelong process. Certification has opened the gateway to knowledge but the journey has just begun.
My mission is to share techniques and experiences by demonstrating choices and options.
After all, each of us is born with a special gift, a whisper, a pull, an energy. We sometimes, just need a little help awakening it!
My favorite quote is:
I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand.
