Tanis Fishman
In an ongoing commitment to share her perspective and experience of the practice of yoga, Tanis teaches from a place where she feels she isn't sharing anything new, but is simply helping people rediscover what always exists inherently.
Using yoga as a balance to a competitive lifestyle of ski racing, Tanis' commitment to the many facets of the practice, both on and off the mat, started at an early age. A true devotion to the practice, however, happened when she went to live, study and serve at the Bihar School of Yoga in India. As her practice and understanding deepened, over the next 14 years she was introduced to the very influential teachings of Donna Farhi; the practice of Yoga Nidra; and currently, is travelling to Italy to deepen her studies with Dona Holleman of how to access and move from the body of light.
Always a very humble, gracious and service oriented perspective, when asked on her position as a teacher of the practice, Tanis states: " Although I am playing the role of 'teacher', I am only and always a student. The wisdom of the teachings can never be taught. They can only be accessed from within.”
Tanis works mainly with principles in order to integrate the concept of wholeness into every class. She encourages a simple and sincere approach to the practice.
